FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga Strengthens Institutional Governance through the Realignment of Educational Support Staff Responsibilities

Yogyakarta – The Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FITK), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, held a meeting on the realignment of educational support staff duties and administrative services on Tuesday (June 30, 2026) at the Faculty Meeting Room. Attended by the faculty leadership and all educational support staff, the event reflected FITK's commitment to strengthening institutional governance and enhancing the quality of administrative services.

The realignment of staff responsibilities represents a strategic initiative to promote professional, adaptive, and accountable faculty governance as the foundation for achieving FITK's vision and mission. Through this initiative, the faculty seeks to optimize its human resources in order to provide more effective and efficient services to the academic community.

In his opening remarks, the Dean of FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. Sigit Purnama, M.Pd., emphasized that the realignment of educational support staff responsibilities is a strategic response to the evolving needs of the institution. He noted that effective governance depends not only on sound systems but also on the synergy and commitment of the people who implement them.

"This realignment is not merely a redistribution of tasks; it is an effort to build a more adaptive and professional organization capable of delivering the highest quality services to our academic community. Every member of the educational support staff plays an equally important role in supporting the successful implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi)," he stated.

The Dean also encouraged all educational support staff to view the organizational changes as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, mutual support, and a productive work culture that prioritizes responsiveness and service excellence. He stressed that high-quality administrative services are essential to fostering an outstanding academic environment. Therefore, strengthening human resource governance is crucial for improving institutional competitiveness and advancing FITK's vision of becoming an excellent, integrative, and internationally recognized faculty.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Administrative Office, Hj. Ratna Eryani, S.Ag., explained that the realignment was designed based on organizational needs, balanced workload distribution, and the optimization of functions across administrative units. She expressed confidence that a more proportional distribution of responsibilities would improve interdepartmental coordination and enable faster, more accurate, and more accountable administrative services for lecturers, students, and the wider community.

On the same occasion, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Andi Prastowo, M.Pd.I., highlighted the close relationship between administrative service quality and academic excellence. According to him, the success of education, research, and community engagement depends not only on the quality of academic staff but also on the professionalism and responsiveness of educational support personnel.

The Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim, M.Pd., added that the realignment should be accompanied by stronger coordination, communication, and accountability in every work process. He expressed his hope that every staff member would clearly understand their respective roles and responsibilities, enabling the faculty to deliver services more effectively and efficiently while supporting the institution's long-term development.

As a follow-up, the new staff assignments will be implemented gradually across all administrative units within FITK under the supervision of the faculty leadership and the Head of the Administrative Office. The implementation process will be supported by regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure balanced task distribution and continuous improvement in service quality. In addition, FITK will continue to strengthen the capacity of its educational support staff through professional development, coordination, and the cultivation of a collaborative work culture centered on service excellence.

Through this initiative, FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga reaffirms its commitment to building more effective, adaptive, and sustainable institutional governance. The realignment of educational support staff responsibilities is not only a response to the evolving needs of the organization but also a long-term investment in strengthening academic and administrative services to support the effective implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education.
