The Importance of Character Education

In a Joint Public Lecture with the Masters and Doctoral Programs of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, the Chancellor of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr.Pil Al Makin, MA, said that ancient Greek classical figures (Plato, Aristotle, and others) always discussed virtue ( kind). How to maintain good relations both in friendship and politics. FITK has a strategic role because the profile of its graduates is to become educators with great potential as drivers of good values. They are inviting everyone (students) to be loyal to virtue. Embody and Be the One, no need to argue and contradict a term. There is no need to contradict what honesty is, but be an honest person; being honest is manifest in yourself. In addition, to enrich values, FITK needs to build collaborative research with various disciplines to give birth to new theories and not get caught up in pragmatism. Students must get used to reading scientific literature and parent books in the original language (English, Arabic, German, and others), at least translated books, to have solid scientific insight. Reduce reading less valuable things.
