INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATED PLP-KKN IN THAILAND LEARNING CULTURE, SHARING KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

For forty-five days from July 16 to August 30, 2019, thirteen students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Miscarriage held real work lectures (KKN) and introduction to the school field (PLP) in Thailand's white elephant country. Nong Jik Regency, Pattani Province is a command post occupied by five male students, namely Mamat Rachmat (PBA 2016), Mr. Sodeekin Lakateb (PBA 2016), Amri Adhitya (PAI 2016), Dwi Afriyanto (PAI 2016), and M. Izza Mahendra (PGMI 2016). They live in the Daarul 'Ulum Foundation which was founded by H. Ismail bin Abdul Hamid in 1974.

The Daarul 'Uluum Foundation has four educational institutions, namely Raudlatul Atfal, Ibtidaiyah, Mutawasith and Tsanawi. Approximately 85% of students at the mutawasith and tsanawi levels stay at Islamic boarding schools. And this is where they learn a lot about the culture, education system, and management policies of an institution.

Various challenges while there, they always live with determination and high dedication. “Living in a new area and a different culture, we have to obey the existing rules and learn a lot about everything that is here, in addition to teaching activities at existing educational institutions, we are also actively communicating and mingling with everyone in this institution. as well as the existing community,” said Mamat, one of the KKN and PLP participants in expressing his memories. By actively establishing communication, they also feel emotional closeness with the founder of the foundation, namely Abuya, their nickname for the founder of the foundation.

“The name of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has actually been beautifully engraved on the Daarul 'Uluum Foundation not only because his eldest son and son-in-law Abuya studied at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Faculty of Tarbiyah, but also because several years ago students of the Tarbiyah Faculty carried out KKN activities there for six months and gave a prize in the form of Mars which is still sung every morning,” said one of the KKN and PLP participants.
