Dublin, Ireland (October 8–10, 2025) — The Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta proudly announces that Ari Wahyu Saputro, M.Pd., lecturer in the Chemistry Education Study Program, has been invited by Google to participate in the Product Expert Summit 2025 held in Dublin, Ireland, from October 8 to 10, 2025.
The Product Expert Summit is an exclusive global forum that gathers Google Product Experts from around the world to discuss, innovate, and collaborate on improving Google’s educational and technological platforms. The entire program is fully funded by Google, covering all participation costs.
Representing Indonesia as the only Google Education Product Expert specializing in Google Classroom, Ari joined three other distinguished educators from the United States — Mark Loundy, Dierdre Shetler, and Michael Fricano. Together, they engaged in intensive training sessions facilitated by Karan Sharma, a Community Manager from India, focusing on newly released Google Classroom features designed to enhance teaching and learning experiences worldwide.
In addition to product discussions, Ari participated in exclusive breakout sessions on Artificial Intelligence (AI), including hands-on introductions to Gemini and Veo 3. According to Ari, the integration of these AI tools holds significant potential to build more interactive, adaptive, and personalized learning ecosystems.
“Participating in this summit has been an invaluable experience, allowing me to connect with global educators and gain first-hand insights into how AI is reshaping the future of education,” said Ari Wahyu Saputro, M.Pd. “These innovations resonate strongly with Indonesia’s vision for transformative, technology-driven education.”
During his stay in Dublin, Ari also visited two prominent Irish universities — Trinity College Dublin and Griffith College Dublin. The visits provided opportunities to observe academic life and student learning culture in Europe. Ari noted that Irish students demonstrate strong academic discipline, spending extensive hours in libraries for study and discussion. “The library is their second home — a place for collaborative learning, writing, and critical thinking,” he observed.
He further emphasized that project-based learning and collaborative thinking are central to Ireland’s higher education system, encouraging students to actively engage in teamwork, argumentation, and problem-solving. “Such approaches align closely with Indonesia’s current educational transformation, where collaboration and creativity are key components of effective learning,” Ari concluded.
The participation of UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s faculty member in this international event marks a significant achievement for the university, showcasing Indonesia’s growing presence and contribution to global educational innovation.
