Students from the Physics Education Program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Achieve Success in the International Student Mobility Program in Thailand

Six students from the Physics Education Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, have been selected to participate in the Student Mobility Program at Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand. This program will take place over four months, from March 1 to June 30, 2025, with the aim of broadening the academic horizons of the participants and providing valuable international experience.

The six students participating in the program, along with their fields of study and academic advisors, are as follows:

  1. Dinta Rahma Diya (NIM: 22104050004) – Fusion Plasma, supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Boonyarit Chatthong
  2. Lutfi Elma Sintiya (NIM: 22104050024) – Physics Education, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suttida Rakkapao
  3. Priandina Ramadhania Istiningrum (NIM: 22104050018) – Material Physics, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chatchai Putson
  4. Umu Salumita Sari (NIM: 22104050012) – Quantum Physics, supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pruet Kalasuwan
  5. Nadiya Afifah Afra Salsabila (NIM: 22104050014) – Material Physics, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Paphavee van Dommelen
  6. Aulia (NIM: 22104050027) – Geophysics, supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Helmut Josef Durrast

Before their departure, the students underwent a rigorous selection process, which included preparing proposals to ensure their readiness both academically and non-academically. The selection process involved assessments of academic performance, English language proficiency, and their mental preparedness and adaptability to an international environment. Additionally, each student was required to prepare a proposal tailored to their respective fields of study. These proposals were then evaluated by the FITK International Office to ensure their quality and relevance to the program at PSU.

The program aims to expand academic networks, enhance research competencies, and provide direct experience in an international academic environment. Under the guidance of experts at PSU, the students are expected to develop deeper and more applicable research skills. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to build connections with academics and students from various countries.

The Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Sunan Kalijaga expressed support for this program as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation. The Faculty, through the International Office, provides various facilities and assistance to students involved in the mobility program, including academic preparation and pre-departure guidance.

The Physics Education Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the internationalization of education by providing opportunities for students to learn directly from experts in their fields. In addition to academic and research activities, the students will also participate in cultural exchange programs that will enrich their experiences. Through their participation in this program, it is hoped that these six students will bring back valuable knowledge and experiences that can be applied to the development of Physics Education in Indonesia.
